Conni got her wish!

Red Sox everywhere... there you go, Con-stance No-Pants!

I'm so excited about coming home and seeing everyone! I have a lot to do at work to get ready for this big vacation, so I really shouldn't be up so late messing around. But I wanted to drop a line and say hello to my lovely family... Hello!!!

I'll be there in less than 3 weeks - yowsa! Does anyone need/want anything from Alaska? Also... I'm wonderinf if we could do the gift swap name drwaing a little early this year? If we can get ourselves in gear up here, we'll have our shopping for Maine all done to I can bring it with me on the plane. I don't have long, though!

Love you all!!!

Go Bosox

So...once the Sox have won the Series and I'm all out of games to watch...when will I blog? Oh yeah I'll be sunk so far into my lack of daylight/baseball depression by then that it won't even occur to me to log on and blog!

Guess I'd better log off and watch the game...I'm so tired from getting up at 4:30 a.m. that I'm going cross-eyed looking back and forth from the t.v. /laptop.

Eccentric vs. One Step Closer to Crazy Old Lady??

I've started cutting the tops off my socks...You know, the knee socks that no longer fit up to your knees, or the cute socks with tight bands around the top?? Well, a few weeks ago when I couldn't part with a beloved pair that were consticting my calves I simply cut the tops off-voila'-comfy socks. Today I did it again with a pair off knee socks...My question to Jeanne was-is this one step from cutting the toes off of shoes, or wearing stockings rolled around my ankles??Honestly-at this time of my life I celebrate my internal freedom to do what works for me, what is comfortable. What do you think-Jeanne only laughed and shook her head-of course she's taken to wearing overalls everywhere-Dickie and Carheart are her fav brands (but I have all those cruise pictures for her all dolled up!).
Off to the garden where the zucchini still grows in mid October-talk about crazy!!

Wreathing, Part 2

I've discovered a whole new world of wreathing which has transformed the front porch into a jungle of hanging flowers, weeds, piles of sea lavender, rose hips, cat tails, ribbons....rings, grape vines-you get the picture. I started fooling ariound a couple of weeks ago and actually sold some at a local craft fair. Yesterday I got a book from the library with tons of ideas so I'm going to do some more gift making tomorrow.

On the gift front, I've finished a slew of scaves and shawls..I'm playing around with combining fabin, ribbon and yarn with some interesting results. I'm going to sew together strips of denim from old jeans and knit it on giant needles to make a rug-it's just an idea, though it seems it should work.

Creative, eh? I'm having a ball!

Oh, we put a hammock up in the back yard, laid a new front walk and expanded the flower and vegtable gardens-not quite the grand landscaping as at Conni's, but it looks pretty good.

As is here-she questioned the shiny round things on the shelf behind me-they are the Brown Bear scat we brought back-now urethaned!!

Enough for now....Mom

holla.

I like all the BoSox hats for the family - nice! Fan much?

I worked on my Halloween costume this weekend - I'm going as the Tooth Fairy. I did some actual sewing for this costume! It's so nice to finally know how to use the sewing machine. No more mystery - it ain't that tough. The hardest part is threading it & dropping the bobbin in properly. Going in a straight line is kinda tricky, too, but that's a heck of a lot easier with some practice.

I'll definitely have some photos to post of this costume later on down the line. Right now I'm on the search for the perfect wig to top it all off...

Just scored big at the Goodwill store with the kids. Sammi's going to be "Moaning Myrtle" from Harry Potter for Halloween. We got an old graduation gown for her robe, and and old necktie for her to wear with a white button-down that she already has. We got her a long black wig and a pair of glasses last night. I'll be sure to take pics the next time she tries on the whole get up. She really looks great! We also found ice skates for each of the kids, and a kick-ass western style shirt so I can be a dead cowgirl!

So...who else is dressing up, and what are you going to be this year?

And hello from me

This was the view from my street a few weeks ago!

Danny had to tell me all about Manny's home run - what he actually said was, 'Conni's boyfriend' hit a run... hehe. I'm surprised he used your actually name, rather than No Pants!

Too bad Sarah's so busy with work! I'll be busy with it this weekend. I brought a bunch of stuff home with me. I also have big plans to do some home re-organization, yard work, and possibly work on a new sewing project. We'll see how all that goes.

Soxtober

So, I'm sitting here watching 2 playoff games. The Yankees (BOOOO) and Cleveland are tied in the 11th inning and the Sox (YEAHHHH) are up 2-0 top of the second. Gotta love October! Kinda wish I had split-screen but Dan's doing a good job working the remote.

Not a whole lot new here, been half-heartedly looking @ jobs, need to work on my resume. Don't want to be too aggressive until I know more about when/what kind of offer the company is going to offer us.

It's been in the 70's-80's again here the past couple days. Where is my crisp clean fall air???

I know that Sarah has been/will be balls to the wall @ work til probably Thanksgiving, so I'll cut her some slack when it comes to blogging. What's your story Jerusha?

Speaking of Turkey Day...Faith I can't wait for you to get here! I haven't played rummy in a while, how 'bout you?

Whoooohoooo Cleveland just beat the Yankees!

The Sox and Angels are tied @ 2 because Manny just blew a play...nope make that 2 plays in the time it took to type this sentence. Now we're down 1. Guess I'd better put down the laptop or this is going to be a play by play post of the next 7 innings!

Where are we?

Come on, ladies, get with the program! Mom, I was impressed that you tackled the blogging thing. Go, techno-Mama! But where are Sarah and Jessy?

Ho hum. Well, I'd better get my butt off to work. I was home for a while this morning but I'm feeling much better. Just wanted to drop a line to all of you. I hope we get this thing off the ground - it has the potential to be very cool.

I love all of you!
